SME SERIES M2-12R
The Series M2-12R is now the only "J" shaped tone-arm in the SME range and was designed to replace the classic Series II and "R" type arms that have served the company so well over the last few decades.

Improvements over the "R" type arm are the utilization of sealed ball race bearings both vertically and horizontally, a two piece tungsten balance weight assembly and a thumbwheel VTA adjustment a first for SME. Plus VTF is applied by a new graduated wayrod/rider weight assembly and this allows up to 5.0g to be applied in half gram increments.
The 12" thin walled stainless steel tone-arm benefits from the reduction in tracking error and distortion over shorter models and utilizes the traditional S2R headshell.
The tungsten alloy counterweight assembly will balance cartridges up to 38g within the headshell and up to 46g for plug in devices.
Another improvement to the whole M2 range is a big step forward in overall rigidity this being very necessary when used with modern day cartridges.
The FD-M2 fluid damper is offered as factory fitted option only and can be an asset with low compliance cartridges.
